摘要: In this study, the Tsunami-caused deterioration of soil and groundwater quality in agricultural fields coastal Nagapattinam district Tamilnadu state India is presented by analyzing their salinity sodicity parameters. To accomplish this, three sets samples up to a depth 30 cm from land surface were collected for first six months year 2005 28 locations ground water monitored seven existing dug wells hand pumps covering study region at intervals 3 months. The EC pH values both estimated spatial temporal variability mappings these parameters performed using geostatistical analysis module ArcGIS((R)). It was observed that spherical semivariogram fitted well with data set generated kriged maps explained under different ranges values. Further, recorded during pre-Tsunami periods compared post-Tsunami period. revealed after Tsunami nearing scenario (EC< 1.5 dS m(-1); pH<8), whereas remained highly saline unfit irrigation drinking. These observations scenarios possible causes such changes remedial measures taking regular practices are also discussed.
