摘要: Over history, humankind has tended to settle near streams because of the role rivers as transportation corridors and fertility riparian areas. However, human settlements in floodplains have been threatened by risk flooding. Possible responses resettle away and/or modify river system building flood control structures. This led a complex web interactions feedback mechanisms between hydrological social processes settled floodplains. paper is an attempt conceptualise these interplays for hypothetical human-flood systems. We develop simple, dynamic model represent loops processes. The then used explore dynamics effect changing individual characteristics, including external forcing such technological development. results show that conceptual able reproduce reciprocal effects floods people well emergence typical patterns. For instance, when levees are built or raised protect floodplain areas, their presence not only reduces frequency flooding, but also exacerbates high water levels. Then, this exacerbation, higher protection levels required society. As result, more flooding events avoided, rare catastrophic take place.
