摘要: Since hazards act upon vulnerability and exposure to become disasters, the understanding of societal challenges is key for disaster risk reduction. This condition even more critical when than one hazard in place. Taking case flooding water shortage, this study built premise that disasters are a social phenomenon; therefore, it essential comprehend context which they occur. Particularly, aims evaluate similarities differences perception coping capacity residents multiple-hazard context. For this, place-based citizen science approach was developed Campina Grande, semiarid region Brazil, with collaboration 199 participants. Risk were analysed through citizens’ participation, while combining subjective objective methods. The results indicate though have experienced severe shortages past, still low capacity. findings highlight need combine triad challenges, namely information, trust, incentives, improve future increase resilience. underlines understand multiple according social, spatial, temporal scales socio-spatial perspective.
