Antibacterial Activity of Leaf Extracts of Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis and Muntingia calabura L. Against Streptococcus pneumoniae

摘要: Antibacterial resistance in Streptococcus pneumoniae has been increasing and is one of ongoing global concern. The need to find new antibacterial agents against paramount importance. Medicinal plants are prospective sources agents. aims the present study were determine activity leaf extraxt Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis Muntingia calabura L. pneumoniae. Leaves extracted using 96% ethanol, while leaves L 100% methanol. extracts two obtained bioassayed for ATCC 49619 a clinical isolate PU 067. Results showed that both have vitro at crude extract concentrations 25%, 50%, 75% (w/v). Both strongest S. concentration 75%. In addition, inhibitory growth 067. plant 067 100%.
