摘要: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading causes of death worldwide. Increasing reports demonstrated that non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) have been crucially involved in development CVDs. Piwi-interacting (piRNAs) a novel cluster small with strong uracil bias at 5′ end and 2′-O-methylation 3′ mainly present in mammalian reproductive system stem cells serve as potential modulators developmental pathophysiological processes. Recently, piRNAs reported to be widely expressed human tissues can potentially regulate various diseases. Specifically, concomitant next-generation sequencing techniques, found differentially CVDs, indicating their involvement occurrence progression heart However, molecular mechanisms signaling pathways involved piRNA function not fully elucidated. In this review, we current understanding from perspectives biogenesis, characteristics, biological function, regulatory mechanisms, highlight roles underlying which will provide new insights into applications clinical diagnosis, prognosis, therapeutic strategies for
