摘要: Most multisubunit proteins and simple viruses are self-assembling systems, in that their structure is completely specified by of subunits. On thermodynamic grounds we would expect such limited structures to show point group symmetry, since this ensures the maximum number links a given type [1], case most stable type, formed. However, not rigid can undergo mutual distortions when they interact it be surprising if sometimes deviate from rules. Sufficient structural information now available provide an approximate estimate frequency different types symmetry deviations them. It particular interest have some idea will tell us how effectively apply arguments based on our attempts determine proteins.
