摘要: Plant cells, like those of animals, contain the Ca2+-binding protein calmodulin1–4. By analogy with animal cells it has thus been suggested that intracellular free Ca2+ concentration may have an important role in regulation plant cell activities. This suggestions supported by various physiological experiments, but so far direct evidence, invol ving measurements levels, not obtained. We describe here giant alga Chara microinjection aequorin, which emits blue light proportion to concentration. exhibit ATP-dependent cytoplasmic streaming shown be inhibited (refs 5, 6). report a low concentration, comparable and action potentials inhibit streaming7 increase this substantially.
