Brain Structure and Resting-State Functional Connectivity in University Professors with High Academic Achievement

摘要: Creative persons play an important role in technical innovation and social progress. There is little research on the neural correlates with researchers high academic achievement. We used a combined structural (regional gray matter volume, rGMV) functional (resting-state connectivity analysis, rsFC) approach to examine substrates of achievement professors (HAP; compared low professors, LAP). Results showed that HAP had greater rGMV left inferior frontal gyrus (mainly posterior orbital gyrus, OFG) supplementary motor cortex (SMA), which might be associated effective behavioral cognitive planning execution; smaller right medial prefrontal (mPFC) parietal lobule (IPL), related increased novelty seeking hypothetical thinking.
