摘要: The Cohen and Strand model for ammonium perchlorate (AP) composite propellants is applied as boundary conditions, one AP binder, in solving the heat conduction equation each to compute linear nonlinear combustion response properties aggregate propellant. Iterations couple binder through quasi-steady flame processes. Illustrative results functions (pressure coupled velocity coupled) are presented a monomodal propellant showing effects of varying size, pressure, crossflow speed. Examples responses arbitrary waveforms also shown. predicts very large at high pressures with coarse due monopropellant combustion, underpredicts peak amplitude low possible change mechanism, shows stabilizing effect diffusion flame. A quantitative comparison function data limited well-characterized research formulation. Mechanistic implications discussed, including recommendations future modeling work.
