摘要: We have constructed and tested a laser interferometer transducer for long, wideband, laser-linked gravitational radiation antenna. Photon-noise-limited performance was achieved using 80 microW from single mode Spectra-Physics 119 in modified Michelson on vibration isolation table quiet room. A piezoelectric driver one of the mirrors used to generate subangstrom (3 x 10(-14)-m) vibrations known amplitude. The measured displacement sensitivity system kilohertz region 1.3 10(-14)m/Hz(1/2), which compares well with calculated photon noise limit 1.06 10(-14) m/Hz(1/2). This is smallest vibrational directly date.
