摘要: Abstract Two theoretical criteria represented by Katgerman, and Clyne Davies for prognosticating hot tearing sensitivity were compared. Both unrefined grain-refined samples of Al2024 alloy solidified at various cooling rates ranging from 0.4 to 17.5 °C/s. Thermal analysis was used detect dendrite coherency point temperature eutectic reaction. Curves solid liquid fractions plotted based on Newtonian method determine susceptible areas. The experimental results show that the most zone in which can occur is where Al2CuMg intermetallic compound forms as a phase last stage mushy-state interval. Also, both are good agreement with each other high direct-chill casting process while Davies' model more acceptable tendency low medium rates.
