摘要: Chronic hypoxia produces pulmonary artery hypertension and remodeling of arteries with hypertrophy smooth muscle in the media extension into more distal small precapillary arteries. The present study investigated influence heparin, an inhibitor platelet-derived growth factor, clotting cascade on this remodeling. Mice maintained room air or 10% O2 for 26 days were treated low-dose heparin at 75 units/kg high dose 300 units/kg. Pulmonary right ventricular developed hypoxic mice compared as evidenced by greater (p < 0.05) systolic pressure (36 ± 4 SEM versus 21 1 mmHg) increase heart weight/left plus septal weight (35 ±1.6 25.2 1.3).
