摘要: Based on a bioassay battery covering only primary producers and consumers as well degraders, the potential ecological hazard of sediments to vertebrates cannot be estimated comprehensively. Therefore, there is an urgent need develop standardize integrated vertebrate-based test systems for sediment investigation strategies. Whereas in vitro have frequently been used aqueous samples, significant lack whole assays. Thus, purpose present study was: (1) rapid reliable, but comprehensive method investigate native particulate matters without preceding extraction procedures; (2) compare solid phase effects corresponding pore waters organic extracts order characterize bioavailability particle-bound pollutants; (3) relatively evaluate embryotoxic from catchment areas rivers Rhine, Neckar Danube. To toxicity samples vertebrates, standard embryo with zebrafish (Danio rerio; Hamilton-Buchanan 1922) according DIN 38415-6 was modified respect exposure scheme toxicological endpoints. Sediments area River were assessed using waters, acetonic get inside into pollutants. A protocol presented. allows assessment both sediments. The isolated may result clear-cut underestimation lipophilic substances (as determined by sediments). (whole, phase) appears very promising evaluation bioavailable fraction can therefore recommended vertebrate tiered strategies dredging directives such HABAB-WSV. acetone tested rough estimation embryotoxicity, will provide more realistic insight potential.
