摘要: Several theories on the mechanics of cutting are reviewed and possibility using them to predict machinability considered. The uses limitations “short-term” tests optimum conditions discussed. possible metallurgical changes at tool work interface considered, their effect wear reported. Increases in production rate when broaching grinding reported which can be attributed fundamental research. It is shown that with increasing use automatic n.c. machines, high rates short lives an economic proposition. computers for analysing data, application adaptive control
