摘要: Different regimens of silver diamine fluoride (SDF) have been used to manage early childhood caries. So far, there is limited information regarding the concentrations and frequency applications for effective caries control in primary teeth. This study aimed compare efficacy 2 commercially available SDF solutions at preprepared 38% 12% when applied annually or biannually over 18 mo arresting dentine randomized double-blinded clinical trial recruited kindergarten children aged 3 4 y who had least 1 tooth with The were randomly allocated receive treatment protocols: group 1, annual application SDF; 2, biannual 3, 4, SDF. Clinical examinations 6-mo intervals conducted assess whether active carious lesions became arrested. Information on children's background oral hygiene habits was collected through a parental questionnaire baseline follow-up examinations. A total 888 4,220 surfaces received baseline. After mo, 831 (94%) examined. arrest rates 50%, 55%, 64%, 74% groups respectively (P < 0.001). Lesions treated higher chance becoming arrested compared those receiving (odds ratio, 1.33; 95% confidence interval, 1.04-1.71; P = 0.025). interaction between concentration lesion site statistically significant Compared SDF, use increased 0.05), except occlusal surfaces. Based 18-mo results, more dentin teeth preschool than rather annually. Knowledge Transfer Statement: results this can be by clinicians dental public health professionals deciding which solution should adopted With consideration fluoride, painless, simple, low cost, could lead appropriate therapeutic decisions young lack access affordable conventional care.
