摘要: Abstract The magnetic study of new Mo-doped vanadium sesquioxides (V 1− x Mo ) 2− δ O 3 revealed two unexpected behaviours. On the one hand, measured effective moment in paramagnetic state at room temperature exhibits a peculiar variation against Mo-doping: first it increases for lower doping rates ( ⩽5% with metal/insulator transition), then decreases purely metallic compositions >5%). This could be explained by existence spin–orbit coupling between cations. other very weak ferromagnetic component has been evidenced addition to mainly antiferromagnetic behaviour. ferromagnetism is correlated partial oxidation samples air temperature. structure compounds similar that V 2 , but small rotation as function doping. In contrast effect titanium doping, no ordering observed low highly >5%), which remain over whole thermal range.
