PQMon: a powerful veto for burst events

摘要: Data taken by the gravitational wave detector GEO 600 (Danzmann Ketal 1994 600—Proposal for a 600m Laser-Interferometric Gravitational Wave Antenna (Garching: MPQ)) during science run ‘S1’ contain large number of transients. In order to reduce false-alarm rate burst search algorithms it is desirable veto all those transients that are clearly not origin. This paper presents method vetoing looking at ‘in-phase’ (P) and ‘quadrature’ (Q) channels demodulated interferometer output signal. By taking advantage fact theP-channel theQ-channel have different sensitivities events, this can power distribution from signature signal induced wave.
