摘要: Purpose To evaluate the percentage and risk indicators leading to retinal redetachment in HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) patients with CMV (cytomegalovirus) retinitis related detachments that were repaired silicone oil, then subsequently underwent oil removal. Design Retrospective, noncomparative interventional case series. Methods The study cohort consisted of a series 15 eyes 14 detachment (RD) at single center followed from time diagnosis through Patient- eye-specific data regarding demographic clinical characteristics collected retrospectively statistical analyses performed compare differences between had versus remained attached following removal oil. Results Eight (53%) redetached after median 4.0 months Cataract surgery was statistically significant factor for ( P = .01). There trend lower CD4 levels be associated higher redetachment. use scleral buckle (initial RD repair or removal) did not reduce Conclusions Approximately half may safely undergo simultaneous cataract extraction also
