摘要: INTRODUCTION: The strength of the re-emergence dengue virus and severity these infections put this disease in priority agenda institutions responsible for protecting health populations. Important understanding epidemiology nowadays refers to knowledge patterns spatial-temporal diffusion, though there is few research addressing issue. This study describes process dissemination state Bahia, from 1994 2000. METHODS: ecological space-time, with units analysis, county, epidemiological week, month, trimester year. There has been construction trend line mapping sequential occurrence municipality period. RESULTS: were 164,050 reported cases introduction unlike other states, occurred on a small city, intermittency spatial temporal records at beginning epidemic. circulated all climatic zones fact what highlight its high transmission power. highest intensity detection territorial expansion was littoral (zone humid half-humid) ideal area survive vector. CONCLUSIONS: Hypothetically, intermittent space-time pattern initially observed, could have allowed control progression epidemic, if structured action vectorial combat carried out.
