Soil transmitted Helminthiasis and associated risk factors among elementary school children in ambo town, western Ethiopia

摘要: Soil-transmitted helminths (STHs) are widespread in underdeveloped countries. In Ethiopia, the prevalence and distribution of helminth infection varies by different exposing risk factors. We therefore investigated factors STHs school children living Ambo town, west Shoa Ethiopia. 2014/15, among 375 planed to be included this study, only 321 were recruited study. Data onto from schools collected, including stool samples for qualitative analysis. Questionnaire data on various demographic, housing lifestyle variables also available. Prevalence any was 12.6%. The respective major soil-transmitted is Ascaris (7.8%), Hookworm (2.8%) Trichuris (2.2%). This study result shows regards age, sex, latrine use, family size nail trimming. results present indicated that percentage positive finding area low. Besides, Large Family size, not trimming unavailability improved identified as predisposing factor infections. All enrolled should treated twice a year until falls below level public health importance.
