摘要: An experimental study was performed to determine the extent of shear-induced augmentation oxygen diffusion in blood. The results were obtained using whole human blood laminar flow through semipermeable membrane tubes. Transfer enchancement found be dependent on fluid shear rate and hemoglobin saturation level. Very little agumentation observed saturated for rates up 2500 s-1. However, with partially unsaturated blood, transfer increased 250 percent at higher rates. implications modeling are discussed.
