摘要: Abstract The use of interface finite elements and a damage model are proposed to predict due low velocity impact in carbon–epoxy (0 4 , 90 ) s laminates. Experimentally, some tests were performed using drop weight testing machine characterisation was done X-rays. Impact-induced delamination matrix cracks found be the most detrimental modes laminated composites. numerical developed is based on an element compatible with three-dimensional solid elements, which allows between layers cracking inside layers. indirect fracture mechanics considering softening stress-relative displacements equation permits simulate initiation propagation avoiding definition initial flaws. progressive successfully simulated interaction crack bending delamination. Good agreement experimental analysis for shape, orientation size obtained.
