摘要: Feral pigs [Sus scrofa] are perceived to cause considerable damage in the rain forests of NE Queensland. The distribution, biology and effects feral region were reviewed likely efficacy control options assessed. Topics covered include parasites diseases pigs, introduction exotic livestock (in particular foot mouth disease). results presented a survey Cooktown-Townsville area, Queensland carried out during January-May May-September 1988. Sightings presence tracks, dung, wallows areas rooting used as signs pig activity. Some 80% transects showed activity at least one study periods.
