摘要: In a consecutive series of 234 patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma follicular cell origin (Huerthle tumors excluded), radioactive iodine ({sup 131}I) scan was obtained 3 to 6 months after thyroidectomy and 4 weeks cessation hormone treatments, only if extrathyroidal tumor extension or nodal distant metastases were present. Twenty-one (9%) {sup 131}I uptake 3% more (group 1) treated 150 200 mCi 131}I. Forty-four (19%) less than 2) 169 (72%) without evidence spread 3) hormone. All initially underwent total modified neck dissection cervical lymph node Three in group 1 one patient 2 had recurrent mean follow-up 8.9 8.4 years. There no recurrences 7.2 Death rate from 5% (one patient) 0% groups 3. conclusion, scanning therapy may be omitted the absence localmore » regional metastases.
