摘要: Seawater-irrigated halophyte systems have been proposed as sites for carbon storage, and therefore the fate of halophyte-derived in soil needs to be determined. To evaluate role microfloral microfaunal communities cycling a agroecosystem, response various agronomic practices was investigated. Biomass activity microflora abundance trophic composition microfauna were determined under three planting densities Salicornia bigelovii (Chenopodiaceae) plots with without incorporated post-harvest residues. Microbial biomass activity, well nematode grazers, increased amendment The microbial density presence plants was, however, limited. only after had entered senescence, result suggesting that mineral where halophytes cropped, dead root material provided significant amount microbially available organic matter. Success agroecosystems storing plant-derived will depend primarily on management residues secondarily growing used prior plant senescence.
