Paramagnetic resonance of the antimorph of the F-center

摘要: Abstract LiF crystals X-rayed at 77°K and then warmed-up to a temperature between 130°K 220°K contain new kind of trapped-hole center. Its electronic structure was studied by means paramagnetic resonance. The centre appears consist hole trapped Li vacancy, thus it may be considered as the “antimorph” F -center. However, electron deficiency is localized on but two neighboring fluoride ions adjacent so that symmetry lower than center closely related self-trapped hole, can also described − 2 molecule-ion. owing vicinity vacancy molecular bond “bent”, has an isosceles triangle lying in (001) plane with base along [110] axis. thermal stability higher because Coulomb field vacancy. main optical absorption band probably centered about 3400 A just for hole. So far, only alkali halide which this type could found.
