摘要: Metallic nanoparticles (NPs) supported on oxides thin films are commonly used as model catalysts for studies of heterogeneous catalysis. Several 4d and 5d metal NPs (for example, Pd, Pt Au) grown alumina, ceria titania have shown strong support interaction (SMSI), instance the encapsulation by oxide. The SMSI plays an important role in catalysis is very dependent oxide used. present work investigates growth mechanism atomic structure Rh epitaxial magnetite Fe3O4(111) ultrathin prepared Pd(111) using Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) technique. iron were characterized X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), low-energy electron diffraction (PED). combined XPS PED results indicate that metallic, cover approximately 20 % surface show height distribution ranging 3–5 ML (monolayers) with essentially a bulk fcc structure.
