摘要: The loss of strength glass fibres following exposure to elevated temperatures for even short times is a well-documented phenomenon, and major factor in restricting the recyclability this material structural applications. Boron-free E-glass with aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APS) coating was thermally conditioned at 450°C 25 minutes. effect damage due manual handling investigated by separating single from bundle different stages process performing tensile tests on them. Fibres separated after thermal conditioning were found have lost around 65% their original strength, while those before procedure exhibited only 35% decrease.
