摘要: Thyroidectomy is a procedure that removes either part of or the entire thyroid gland. There are several reasons why surgeon would remove gland, including cancer, benign conditions hyperfunctioning glands. While classic thyroidectomy involves key manoeuvres anatomically based, surgeons who routinely perform this often have minor variations 'tricks' help facilitate safe completion operation. The technique for outlined in chapter describes basic approach while simultaneously imparting simple 'tricks and tips' will allow to evade unwanted intraoperative challenges. © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
