摘要: We use original spectra and available photometric data to recover parameters of the stellar atmosphere PZ Mon, formerly referred as an active red dwarf. The derived effective temperature Teff=4700K gravity lgg=2.8 suggest that Mon is a K2III giant. Stellar (Teff lgg) alongside with evolutionary tracks are used estimate mass ~1.5Mo radius ~7.7Ro. angular by infrared flux method when combined linear suggests distance 250+/-70 pc, factor 2.5 smaller than suggested Hipparcos parallax. giant status confirmed carbon nitrogen abundance. spectrum reveals pronounced HeI 5876 A absorption Halpha emission indicating robust chromosphere. IUE found contain transition layer line CIV 1550 A. X-ray luminosities turn out typical RS CVn stars. extended set confirms period 34.14 days presumably related rotation. variations radial velocity amplitude ~8 kms which could be caused orbital motion.
