摘要: Abstract Stubblefield MD, Manfield L, Riedel ER. A preliminary report on the efficacy of a dynamic jaw opening device (Dynasplint Trismus System) as part multimodal treatment trismus in patients with head and neck cancer. Objective To examine effectiveness strategy for Design Retrospective cohort study. Setting Tertiary care cancer center. Participants Patients (N=20). Intervention All underwent assessment by board-certified physiatrist were referred to physical therapy delivery DTS instructed progress use 30 minutes 3 times day. Additional modalities including pain medications botulinum toxin injections prescribed clinically indicated. Main Outcome Measures Change maximal interincisal distance (MID) documented medical record. Results The therapy, medications, deemed appropriate resulted an overall improvement MID from 16.5mm 23.5mm ( P =.88). Conclusions is safe effective component improving associated its treatment. Further investigation needed determine relative available other stretching devices.
