摘要: In this paper, a wind energy conversion system (WECS) using grid-connected wound rotor induction machine controlled from the side is compared with both fixed speed and variable systems cage machine. The comparison done on, basis of: (1) major hardware components required; (2) operating region; (3) output due to defined function characteristics of practical turbine. Although more simple reliable, it severely limits case systems, shows that similar rating can significantly enhance capture. This comes about ability operate rated torque even at supersynchronous speeds; power then generated out as well stator. Moreover, control, voltage devices DC bus capacitor bank reduced. size line inductor also decreased. Results are presented show substantial advantages doubly fed system.
