摘要: Equilibrium sucrose density gradient centrifugation of chromatophore membranes from Thiocapsa floridana resulted in the formation a single pigmented band, having 1.14 g/cm3. The contain 49% protein, 47% lipid and 3% chlorophyll. Small quantities carbohydrate, but no nucleic acids were found. Complete membrane solubilization release small subunits. Dialysis solubilized preparation against buffer containing Mg2+, reassociation subunits into structures that resembled original complex not only morphology also their ability to catalyze photophosphorylation.
