摘要: Abstract Residues obtained by treatment of various silk fibroins with acid, alkali and hydrogen peroxide have been analysed for their constituent amino acids column chromatography. Treatment the Antheraea mylitta, Dictyoploca japonica Pachypasa otus acid or alkali, gave residues that had a considerably greater content alanine than untreated fibroins. These belong to same main X-ray group whose diffraction patterns resemble β-polyalanine, show in this respect an even resemblance synthetic fibrous polymer.
