摘要: The antibacterial effect of silver nanoparticles has resulted in their extensive application health, electronic, consumer, medicinal, pesticide, and home products; however, remain a controversial area research with respect to toxicity biological ecological systems. This study tested the oral (56 nm) over period 13 weeks (90 days) F344 rats following Organization for Economic Cooperation Development (OECD) test guideline 408 Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Five-week-old rats, weighing about 99 g males 92 females, were divided into four 4 groups (10 each group): vehicle control, low-dose (30 mg/kg), middle-dose (125 high-dose (500 mg/kg). After 90 days exposure, clinical chemistry, hematology, histopathology, distribution studied. There was significant decrease (P < 0.05) body weight male after although there no changes food or water consumption during period. Significant dose-dependent found alkaline phosphatase cholesterol female indicating that exposure more than 125 mg/kg may result slight liver damage. Histopathologic examination revealed higher incidence bile-duct hyperplasia, without necrosis, fibrosis, and/or pigmentation, treated animals. also accumulation all tissues examined. A gender-related difference noted kidneys, twofold increase kidneys compared kidneys. target organ be both rats. NOAEL (no observable adverse level) 30 LOAEL (lowest are suggested from present study.
