摘要: Background The diminishing investment into the development of new antimicrobials is significant global concern. This, coupled with emergence anti-infective drug resistance, highlights need to both prolong and optimise use existing antimicrobials. Strategies or programs antimicrobial fall under broad heading stewardship. Aim To identify types stewardship in existence Australian hospitals their perceived success. Method Directors Pharmacy nominees (n = 281) working were surveyed institutional programs. Infectious disease clinicians, infection control nurses hospital pharmacists recruited for qualitative interviews. They interviewed until saturation themes was identified.
