摘要: The distribution and abundance of Emus in the South Australian pastoral zone between 1978 1989 was determined by winter aerial surveys. average number Emu groups present ranged from a low 0.02 km-2 1983 to 0.08 1980, 1981 1988. Between 1984 1989, size these found range 2.22 4.55 Emus. Although varied year year, density generally highest northeast lowest more arid northwest. is relatively pro ductive area, containing mixture land systems, particularly ‘run-on’ areas. open woodlands tall shrub- lands northwest south supported densities Areas high were dominated intensive sheep grazing, fans and/or hills, red duplex soils, predominantly bluebush. Rainfall during summer autumn considered an important determinant density, with this period being terms egg production.
