摘要: Abstract The coastal hydrodynamics of an eastward-facing bay (Nueva Bay) located in the west coast Nuevo Gulf (42.76° S, 65.03° W) was inferred using time series seawater temperature, winds and tides. Temperature measured at surface near bottom a station with maximum depth 18 m. Concurrent observations wind intensity direction were registered ~ 3 km from station. Tidal levels predicted WXTide software. Surface heat flux explained observed annual cycle temperature seasonal thermal stratification. Events upwelling/downwelling associated to offshore/onshore winds, lags approximately 5–6 hours. Spectral analysis showed significant diurnal semidiurnal peaks during warm season (spring summer), when water column stratified. spectral energy correlated main components tidal cycle. Diurnal variability driven by cycles (sea breeze) occurring 52% spring days 61% summer days. We present two conceptual models nearshore dynamics that are coherent (up 4 °C 6 hours).
