摘要: Purpose This study aimed to investigate the effects of multi-strain probiotics supplementation on gastrointestinal permeability, systemic markers inflammation and running performance when exercising in heat. Methods Ten male runners were randomized 4 weeks daily with a capsule (45 billion CFU Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium Streptococcus strains) or placebo, separated by washout period (double-blind, cross-over trial). After each treatment, exercised fatigue at 80% their ventilatory threshold 35 °C 40% humidity. To assess ingested lactulose rhamnose before exercise post-exercise urine was collected measure sugar concentrations. Venous blood samples before, immediately after 1 h exercise, core temperature monitored during exercise. Results Probiotics significantly increased run time (min:s 37:44 ± 2:42 versus 33:00 2:27; P = 0.03, d 0.54). Average similar between trials (probiotic 38.1 0.2 °C, placebo 0.1 °C; 0.77, 0.13). Serum lipopolysaccharide concentration (P 0.05). There small moderate reduction (d 0.35) lactulose:rhamnose 0.25) symptoms discomfort following (both 0.25). Conclusion Four probiotic Further studies are required elucidate exact mechanisms for this benefit.
