摘要: The two most promising noninvasive imaging modalities for the study of atherosclerosis are magnetic resonance (MRI) and computed tomography (CT). Both have been shown to be capable vessel wall structures differentiating various stages atherosclerotic changes. MRI has applied in vivo human studies image plaques coronary arteries, carotid aorta. latest generation multidetector row (MDCT) systems allows characterization different plaque components vascular structures. MDCT evaluation whole arterial vasculature. In addition, ability visualize give a quantitative measurement calcified noncalcified plaque. Using either technique, repeatable, disease during its natural history after therapeutic intervention will enhance our understanding progression regression. MRI, therefore, may help selecting appropriate treatments.
