摘要: Various techniques for examining the core region of optical fibers and fiber preforms involve placing a portion fiber/preform in an index-matching fluid transversely illuminating immersed portion. As described herein, use can be eliminated by with diverging beam. By suitable selection parameters, refraction at air-fiber/preform interface produce well colliminated beam within region.
