摘要: Higher-level relationships of the Hydrozoan subclass Hydroidolina , which encompasses vast majority medusozoan cnidarian species diversity, have been elusive to confidently infer. The most widely adopted phylogenetic framework for Hydriodolina based on ribosomal RNA data received low support several higher level relationships. To address this issue, we developed a set baits target more than hundred loci from genomes broad taxonomic sample high-throughput sequencing. Using these data, inferred using maximum likelihood and Bayesian approaches. Both inference methods yielded well-supported hypotheses that largely agree with each other. Baysian hypothesis testing frameworks, found alternate topological receive strong in light genomic generated study. Nonetheless, topology proposed herein consistently scores well across suggesting it represents likely Hydroidolina. posterior infers Aplanulata as earliest branching lineage This is deviation previous analyses placed Capitata or Siphonophorae lineages Considering comprised part possess life cycle involving solitary polyp free-swimming medusa stage, presented potentially far-reaching implications our understanding evolution cycles, coloniality, division labor Hydrozoa.
