摘要: In 1994 the WHO proposed guidelines for diagnosis of osteoporosis based on measurement bone mineral density. They have been widely used epidemiological studies, clinical research and treatment strategies. Despite widespread acceptance diagnostic criteria, several problems remain with their use. Uncertainties concern optimal site assessment, thresholds men inaccuracies at different sites. addition, development many new technologies to assess amount or quality poses in placing these tools within a assessment setting. This review considers recent literature that has highlighted strengths weaknesses use fracture risk, makes recommendations actions resolve difficulties.
