摘要: Abstract The United States Department of Energy Hanford Site, near Richland, Washington, USA, processed plutonium between 1944 and 1987. Fifty-six million gallons waste various origins remain, including from removing zircaloy fuel cladding using the so-called Zirflex process. speciation zirconium fluoride in this is important because corrosivity reactivity as well (potentially) high density Zr-phases. This study evaluates solid-phase X-ray diffraction (XRD) scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS). Two samples were analyzed: one sample that relatively pure tank 241-AW-105 another a blend wastes other high-level 241-C-104. Villiaumite (NaF) was found to be dominant species natrophosphate (Na 7 F[PO 4 ] 2 ·19H O) blended waste. Most present sub-micron amorphous Na–Zr–O phase Na-Al–Zr–O Some both tanks either rounded or elongated crystalline needles Na-bearing ZrO are up 200 μm length. These results provide process planners data needed develop disposal processes for
