摘要: Screening programmes for diabetic retinopathy are being introduced in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. These require large numbers of retinal images to be manually graded presence disease. Automation image grading would have a number benefits. However, an important prerequisite automation is accurate location main anatomical features image, notably optic disc fovea. The locations these necessary so that lesion significance, field view clarity can assessed. This paper describes methods robust elliptical form major blood vessels used obtain approximate locations, which refined based on circular edge local darkening at been tested 1056 sequential from screening programme. Positional accuracy was better than 0.5 diameter 98.4% cases location, 96.5% fovea location. sufficiently effective component automated system screening.
