摘要: Biodiversity conservation requires prioritization to be effective. hotspots and planning identify where focus efforts, but it is unclear when most successful. Our goals were to: (a) investigate if hot moments for occur, (b) calculate how important prevalent they are, (c) discuss what may catalyze conservation. We analyzed the worldwide network of protected areas since inception, analyzing both all countries, those 35 countries that contained at least 1% either total count or area globally. The evidence was very strong. Among 44% more than half their in 1 year, 61% did so one 5-year period. contain globally (77%) 23% 49%, respectively, within 5 years. Hot often coincided with societal upheaval such as collapse USSR end colonialism. Conservationists need account
