摘要: Phosphorylation and O-GlcNAcylation are widespread post-translational modifications (PTMs), often sharing protein targets. Numerous studies have reported the phosphorylation of plant viral proteins. In plants, research on lags behind that other eukaryotes, information about O-GlcNAcylated proteins is extremely scarce. The potyvirus Plum pox virus (PPV) causes sharka disease in Prunus trees also infects a wide range experimental hosts. Capsid (CP) from virions PPV-R isolate purified herbaceous plants can be extensively modified by phosphorylation. this study, combination proteomics biochemical approaches was employed to broaden knowledge PPV CP PTMs. proved regardless whether or not it assembled into mature particles. PTMs occurred natural host persica, similarly what happens plants. Additionally, we observed were general features different strains, suggesting these contribute strategies deployed during plant-virus interactions. Interestingly, at casein kinase II motif conserved among potyviral CPs exhibited strain specificity PPV; however, did display critical role attributed same modification another potyvirus, Potato A.
