摘要: Plant lectins are specific carbohydrate-binding proteins that widely distributed in various plant species. They participate many physiological processes and capable of modulating the immune response. Recently, greater attention has been drawn to their remarkable anticancer properties. Lectins associated with cell adhesion, proliferation induction apoptosis. However, some questions related molecular mechanism / metabolic pathways biological effects still open. New challenges research application nanotechnology development glycoproteomics. In addition, glycoproteomics is a powerful tool characterization will be indispensable for lectin based drugs near future. This review provides brief outline up-to-date advances field lectins, focusing on complex mechanisms implicated apoptosis autophagy. The current applications cancer treatment also described.
