摘要: Abstract Introduction Enterococcus faecalis is the most commonly isolated bacteria from root canals of teeth with persistent periapical periodontitis. Its ability to grow as a biofilm impedes elimination E. by using irrigating solutions. The purpose this study was assess efficacy cetrimide and chlorhexidine (CHX), alone in association, combined alternating form, eradicating biofilms faecalis. Methods Biofilms grown MBEC–high-throughput device for 24 hours were exposed solutions 30 seconds 1 2 minutes. Eradication defined 100% kill bacteria. Student t test used compare associations irrigants. Results Cetrimide eradicated at concentrations 0.5%, 0.0312%, 0.0078% minutes contact time, respectively. CHX did not eradicate any (4% initial concentration) or times assayed. association 0.1% 0.05% concentration CHX, whether application, effectively all tested. also achieved 0.02% 0.01% Statistical analysis revealed significantly better results rather than use (P Conclusions associated provided their applications single agents against biofilms, application more effective mode application.
