摘要: Abstract An aerosol monitoring study was established to measure ambient composition and air pollution for one sampling site located at the University of Concepcion, Chillan Campus. Chillan, a typical agricultural city in central valley, is southern Bio Region Chile. The Campus approximately 4 km north city's downtown. monitor operated on campus from 9 October December, 1998. employed an IMPROVE sampler with Anderson PM 10 inlet 3 m collecting 25 mm Teflon membrane filters. filters were weighed before after obtain mass concentration, then proton induced X-ray emission fluorescence analysis used concentration 22 elements levels below 0.68 ng / m 3 . Moderate observed (up 116 μ g ). main particle source resuspended soil dust, which accounts 55% aerosol. presence Br, Pb V other heavy metals analyzed samples points traffic emissions city. Aerosol associated transportation activities 11% mass. Non-transportation organics, hydrogen measured by elastic scattering analysis, are important component accounting 19% Sulfate particles account 3%. In addition, several trace metals, including Mn, Zn, Cu, Ga, As, Sr our suggests industrial
